Needing cables and what it takes to connect to trane units

S
Answer by Saumya Sharma

To connect Trane TechView software to Trane units, you will typically need a service tool or cable to interface between the computer running TechView and the HVAC unit. Commonly used cables include USB-to-RS485 adapters for connecting to many HVAC systems that use a communications protocol requiring RS485. It’s best to consult your Trane unit's manual or contact Trane's support to ensure you have the correct cable and setup instructions for your specific model.
